Wheaton Regional Park is nestled in a forested area of Wheaton, Maryland. The park was established in 1960, incorporating several large parcels of land into one of Montgomery County's finest and largest parks. Visitors can enjoy a variety of recreational and educational opportunities within its 536 acres. Take a ride on the train, go horseback riding, have a picnic, go fishing, ice skate or play ball. Relax and tour Brookside Gardens' grounds and conservatory, attend a nature program, or traverse the trails and discover the park's beauty.

Montgomery Parks opened its first Dog Park at Wheaton Regional Park in January 2003. Located just past the new Wheaton Sports Pavilion, this half-acre dog park is enclosed with a 6-foot chain link fence, allowing dogs to run and exercise off-leash. The facility is open for use sunrise to sunset. Please remember that all dogs should be on a leash before entering and exiting the park.
