Lincroft - Thompson Park

805 Newman Springs Road
732-842-4000

The Park System Headquarters are located in this 667 acre park, which was established in 1968 with a donation of 215 acres from the estate of Geraldine Livingston Thompson.

The park features several areas with names that remind visitors about its rich history. The Estate Grounds section includes the beginnings of a beautiful Memorial Tree Grove and the site of the former Geraldine and Lewis Thompson mansion. The Old Orchard area provides easy access to the 14 miles of trails within the park and is reminiscent of the former Thompson family apple orchard. The Filly Run area is home to the park's playground and also provides access to the park trails, specifically the 4.9 mile paved trail loop. The Three Barn section is named for the two large horse barns (now Theatre Barn and Activity Barn) and a cow barn

Thompson Park has opportunities for varied recreational interests including 14 miles of multiple-use trails (4.9 miles paved), a playground, tennis courts, a fishing lake for canoes/kayaks and electric-powered boats, a seasonal group picnic facility, Creative Arts Center, and off-leash dog area.

A nice park with multiple trails.. I usually take the 4 mile paved loop trail but there are other nice trails through the woods and meadows. Once went through the meadows in summer.. there were a lot of ticks so I stick to the paved trail after that.

Thompson is a lovely park that has Walking Trails, Sports fields, and pretty much anyting you like to do will be accommodated. It's got leash-free dog areas, they rent Cross Country Skis in the winter, canoes in the summer, it's just a really nice place.

Great outdoor experience. Huge park, lots of trails, a lake, an off leash dog area. Very scenic and pleasant place to walk, jog, or ride a bike, or picnic.

A beautiful park that has areas for various outdoor activities. The staff that runs the various events at the park are always very friendly and helpful. For the winter there is access to cross country skiing equipment which you don't find in many places.

Wonderful park. Great for bicycles. Paved paths. 5 mile perimeter trail with wooden bridges. Scenic. Also hiking trails that overlook the water reservoir.
