City Green is a four-acre park that is ideal for gatherings, festivals, and outdoor concerts. Shaded areas are designed for a quiet game of chess, a good book, or simply a good vantage point to people watch. The City Green boasts water features, inspired by the springs that give the city its name and were inspired by the City’s beautiful neighbor – the Chattahoochee River.
The walkway through the City Green features pedestrian-friendly wide sidewalks, a water wall and shade bosque, creating an inviting and dynamic experience for residents as they enjoy a leisurely stroll and the splash pad, an interactive fountain for kid play.
A covered stage provides space for outdoor concerts. The park will also serve as an outdoor “gallery” space featuring sculptures as part of an annual public art competition in conjunction with ArtSandySprings.
Wi-Fi:
Visitors to the City Green can access the internet at no charge. This free Wi-Fi access is available through Xfinity and extends throughout the campus, and beyond into the district south to Hilderbrand Drive.
ArtSS in the Open:
Welcome to the City's sculpture gallery without walls! ArtSS in the Open is a collaborative project with Art Sandy Springs (ArtSS) and the City to create a public art program. Each year a competition will be held to attract sculptures from all over the country and various pieces will be purchased by the City and placed throughout Sandy Springs.
City Green Live:
City Green Live a free concert series on the City Green on select Friday nights throughout the summer. It's an ideal way to wind down the week and kick off the weekend. Featuring a variety of music genres, City Green features nationally known artists along with local favorites. City Green Live is funded in part through a generous grant from the Sandy Springs Arts Foundation.
Pets:
The City Green is the perfect spot for a picnic, the shade areas are ideal for relaxing while listening to the gentle sound of the fountains, and the splash pad is irresistible for children looking to escape the hotter weather. But for the health and safety for all of the park's visitors, pets are not allowed on the lawn and surrounding plaza.
