Roaring River State Park

Fight trophy trout in one of the most breathtaking settings imaginable at Roaring River State Park. The park contains one of the premier trout fisheries in the nation, stocked each night. The natural setting – towering hills above a deep blue spring -- provides a scenic backdrop to adventures. Seven trails cut through the parks rugged terrain, and lodging options fromcampsites to cabins make Roaring River a place to experience a unique slice of Missouri.

Called in because a large group of children were throwing rocks and swimming in the fishing only area. Was told they would be right over. No ranger ever showed up. I was disappointed because we paid to use the river in this area. They did not pay anything and were causing my young girls to be afraid. MO you can do better! We are not from this state but come here because it is enjoyable. Today leaves a bad taste in my mouth. If the park is going to be fair game for rock throwing, I will find a different place to go.

Beautiful spring river that flows from deep below one of the Ozarks many caves. The historic fly fishing pools along Roaring River we're constructed in the mid 1930's by the Civilian Conservation Corps Company. The narrow valley that carries this crystal clear trout fishing river through the hills is often visited by bald eagles (check out the south end of the valley). A fish hatchery was constructed by the CCCC and is the source of the rainbow and brown trout. Fishing license for the park are available at the Park Store (near the entrance). Fish cleaning station is also near the entrance and the family swimming pond (off of the river). 3 campgrounds, a lodge and small cabins near the hatchery provide your stay.

As always roaring river is excellent. Clean campgrounds, and the fishing is great. So relaxing, just what the doctor ordered.
