Linden Hills Park is a few blocks west of Lake Harriet on 42nd St. W between Xerxes Ave. S and Zenith Ave. S in the heart of the Linden Hills neighborhood. The recreational amenities at the park offer something for everyone to enjoy. There are fields for baseball and softball, courts for basketball and tennis, a totlot playground and wading pool for the kids, and during the wintertime there are outdoor ice rinks for skating and hockey.

The Recreation Center provides a wide variety of programs and activities for kids, teens and the whole family. To make available an even better and broader range of recreational services, Linden Hills Park is part of a Service Area with Pershing Park. Other nearby parks include Beard's Plaisance and William Berry Park.

Linden Hills Park, like the surrounding neighborhood and nearby Linden Hills Parkway, were named after the area's hilly terrain and numerous linden trees. The park site, which included a portion of York Ave. S, was acquired in 1921. In one of the most ambitious plans of that era to create a neighborhood park, work crews built a 3,600-foot pipeline from the park site to Lake Calhoun to drain water from the area.
