In Hot Spring County, nestled among the natural beauty of the Ouachita Mountains is 1,940-acre Lake Catherine, one of the five popular Diamond Lakes in west central Arkansas. Lake Catherine State Park features many CCC/Rustic-style facilities constructed of native stone and wood by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) in the 1930s.Situated along the lakeshore, the park's 20 cabins feature fully-equipped kitchens. All but one feature one-bedroom, and most have wood-burning fireplaces. The park's two-bedroom cabin, the Polly Crews Cabin, was designed to be fully-accessible to serve the needs of visitors with disabilities. The cabin includes its own private and fully-accessible fishing pier and boat dock. This 1,160-square-foot cabin that opened in 2004 features a design inspired by the architectural designs of the park's five, CCC/Rustic-style cabins which were constructed in the 1930s. An accessible parking space and path provide barrier-free access to the cabin. The bathroom offers both a spa tub and a roll-in shower. Just outside the cabin's screened porch, a large flagstone patio also offers nice views of the lake. The patio includes a picnic table and pedestal grill. Book these for your next vacation with friends or family!

Loved it! Very relaxing and beautiful. Cabin and grounds were clean and well kept. So much to do. You can fish, hike, camp, boat, bike and ride horses. Great location and only 20 minutes from Downtown Hot Springs if you'd like to take your exploration to the streets. Plan on going back next year!

Great place to get out for a hike, the trails range from 1.5 to 4.5 miles or more, depending on how adventurous you feel. Winding, twisting paths enclosed in a canopy of greenery. Plenty spots to jump in the lake to cool down if you care to. Great for a day hike.

Great boating/kayaking lake. This park offers spacious camping spaces and can cater up to large rigs. Plenty of wildlife, hiking and biking on the roads (no mountain biking). Full hookup RV sites right on the water so bring your boat and you get use of a small boat dock. Tent campers choose your side carefully. At the end point of the loop the geese are quite loud, all hours of the night. Stay back off the water instead. Overall a very clean park, no wifi access provided but cell signal was usable on Verizon and we were able to pick up several TV channels via antenna.
