Hoffner Park

As a part of AARP's 60th Anniversary, AARP launched an ambitious effort in 2019 to create 53 fitness parks – one each in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. These AARP Sponsored Outdoor Fitness Parks Organized by FitLot are designed for adaptive use by people with a wide range of abilities and exercise needs.

This park, located at Blue Rock and Hamilton Avenue, in Northside, was dedicated on May 7, 1977. Formerly called Northside Playground, its present name was recommended by the Northside Community Council, in honor of Jacob Hoffner who stipulated that the land be used as a park after his passing. In 2001, a pavilion, playground, and trees were added by the Cincinnati Park Board to renovate and revive the two-acre Hoffner Park. The park was redesigned to make it look like an old-fashioned town green with a large lawn perfect for picnics, community festivals, such as the Northside 4th of July celebration, and an outdoor farmers market.

Hoffner Park Shelter is first come first serve unless reserved through the Special Use Permits office, 513-352-6180. There are no restrooms available.
