Very nice place, very nice layout ,lots of things to do. Price reasonable. Employees very friendly. Drinking water and shore water very warm in summer heat! Not much shade. Should allow more than 14 days in summer!

Being out here was amazing. It felt like we were in the middle of nowhere! Dark starry sky, coyotes howling, just incredible! The campsite's are spacious, yet close enough to visit your neighbor if you're camping with family and friends. We forgot a few things and we're able to run to Walmart just across the highway without losing too much time during our stay. There are some great paths for hiking and plaques with local history. We will definitely go back!

We've been camping at Catalina during the winter months since 2011 and its my favorite State Park in Arizona, by far. The mountain scenery, flora and fauna are all so beautiful - huge saguaros and so many of them! It's nice that there are mesquite trees in the campground to provide shade during those hot afternoons. I appreciate that they allow bird feeders in the campground, and I think the birds appreciate it too. There were so many more roadrunners this past year, most often seen around the entrance to the B-loop. All of the hiking trails are great, just keep your ears perked for cyclists on the Fifty Year trail.

If you like hiking, then Catalina State Park is a great place to indulge your sport. The trails range from super easy to difficult as you approach Mt. Lemmon. The trails are not paved, but the easy trails are really easy and the harder trails are rocky, narrow and steep in some places. There are literally miles of trails to hike. In addition to hiking, the weekends sometime offer special events like musical performances, nothing elaborate or large scale but small, simple and intimate. The plant and animal life that you may experience in the park is awesome and just the "icing on the cake".

This is our 3rd stay and we LOVE IT. We have brought our kids, grandkids and siblings and have a great time every time. The park is very easy to find and the campground spaces are big and nicely separated so you don't feel infringed on by other campers. The restrooms and showers are very nice and clean. The roads and sites are paved and you can't beat the scenery. Beautiful sunsets and surrounding mountains are so relaxing and peaceful. The music nights are great and we thoroughly enjoyed the one we were lucky to catch while there. We plan on being regulars for years to come :)
