Caesars Head State Park

A granitic gneiss outcropping atop the dramatic Blue Ridge Escarpment gives Caesars Head State Park its name. Every fall, from the easily-accessible overlook atop the rocky peak of the Blue Ridge Escarpment, sight-seers are treated to the Hawk Watch program and a spectacular view that extends into North Carolina and Georgia.

Caesars Head connects to Jones Gap State Park in what is known as the Mountain Bridge Wilderness Area, an 11,000-acre area of pristine southern mountain forest. Hikers can take a number of loop and traverse hiking trails that connect the parks, and trailside camping is available for those who choose the longer routes.

One of the most popular trails at Caesars Head is the two-mile Raven Cliff Falls trail. This hiking trail leads to 420-foot Raven Cliff Falls, where a suspension bridge offers one of the two publicly accessible overlooks to the falls as they plunge deep into the mountain cove below.

rating is just because of one person here. an old man that thinks he is funny. a person ask how the falls were today. he said what falls. there a lot. clearing knowing there is only one falls (raven cliff) that people mostly ask about. but he had sarcastic answers for everything. doing his best to make people feel dumb. he needs to get a life. other than the jerk behind the desk the lookouts are awesome!!!!!!

Beautiful views!! The lookout is so accessible to the parking lot. No hike required for this gorgeous overlook! The walking trails are a little difficult, depending on which ones you chose. However, the trail to the waterfalls is a joke. No waterfalls found on that trail. They do have really nice picnic tables if you want to bring lunch.

If you like hiking and great views of the Appalachia mountains look no further. Awesome trails, better views and being close to a sleep small town gives it that much more charm to it. I came for the trails and stayed for the views and great locales. Definitely hit this place late spring and early summer to get the best experience to have here. It may be a little busier mid to late summer and even into the fall but it won't detract from the experience.

Such a beautiful state Park! Great look out point over the valley for the stunning views of Table Rock. Nice little shop for reasonable priced goodies. The park rangers are very helpful and welcoming. We've visited a couple times now and it wows us every time!

The most unfriendly rangers/staff I have ever encountered. And I hike and explore a LOT! Did I mention grumpy, mean and rude. Both of them the young girl too. And getting info was like pulling teeth. That being said the area was lovely and hiking too. This review is just about the visitors center!
