Great place for picnics and family gatherings. During summer have concerts every Wednesday with various types of music. Bathrooms available and parking. Fun quiet place. Even have a playground for the kids.

A bit of history: Bunning Park is named in honor of Peter Christian Bunning, born in Germany in 1859 and died in Rock Springs in 1935. Peter immigrated to the United States in 1886, and during his life he would be appointed as the Rock Springs Chief of Police, and elected mayor in 1923, a position he held for ten years. The park was created in 1926 and was referred to as "Bunning's Folly" - many at the time believed that trees and grass wouldn't grow there.
