Another 6-Star venue disguised as a 5-Star State Park. Boyce Thompson is one of the most unique places you take your dearest friends, your most loved relatives, or your mate on their birthday. You'll want to give them a gift that will last a lifetime, a visit to an incredible place where their senses can roam and be delighted. The carefully planted trees and plants in this arboretum are in some cases a century old now. Some of the gum trees, the Eucalyptus, are 20 feet in circumference and 100 feet tall. The historic buildings, too, will dazzle every visitor because of their incredible locations within this huge property. save at least 3 hours to fully hike through and enjoy this place. It's so dynamic. If you can visit at just the right time in February or March, you'll see the cactus and native wildflowers at their best. Call ahead to find out that perfect week for the top color display.

This is a favorite destination for me and my husband. We love to go 🐦 watching and taking photos of the beautiful and extensive garden. It is a State park but you can purchase a membership. I t is a lot cheaper than the Phoenix botanical gardens. It doesn't have a food service but picnic tables.

This place is so awesome! The plant life is amazing to study here as well as the beautiful butterflies and birds. On Halloween nights, they have a great family event that I can't wait to go to again in October! We even got to see little frogs the last event we went to at night in the fall. So neat and cute!

What a wonderful Garden. I have visited more than a few including the Desert Botanical garden and this may be my favorite. The beds were wonderful and I loved the more Raw quality of the garden with natural paths and lots of shady areas. I will certainly go there many more times in the future. I would have given it a full 5 1/2 stars but there were hoses that weren't actively being used for watering laying about in some of the beds ruining possible wonderful photo ops. I actually worked in a major US Botanical garden and that wouldn't pass inspection and I realize its a smallish garden with a smallish budget but there were items that could use a fresh coat of paint or some maintenance and refurbishment. Still .. it is a must see and I wholeheartedly recommend it and I will be back.

This is a great place to see different plants and wildlife. It's a doable 1+ mile walk but you ha e lots of side trails and options to take. Person who checked us in was super friendly and nice.
