Picnic area is awesome. Great area to spend with the family. Warning that water is ice cold. Loved it. Kids had a great time trying to catch fishies.

Beautiful Place too bad that they have such an a--hole for a camp host. Tried to make reservation. Could not get a return call before we headed that way. Arrived about ! PM. BOTH Camp Hosts had signs hanging that said OFF DUTY..After a trip around the park we selected Site #23. There was a small red sign that said OCCUPIED..We did not understand the directions on the Sign at the entrance that showed which spaces were available. In fact every space that we saw had the little red sign. We set up unpacked had a great afternoon. Around 7 PM another camper arrived and said we were in his reserved spot. He went to the camp host and he flew down on his ATV and told us to get out of the park. We tried to explain what had happened and all he could say was NOT MY PROBLEM..Which he repeated several times. Needless to say it all went sideways from there. At one point he even cursed me.. Said he had called the Sheriff on us. By this time we were packing to leave. We asked for our $28 dollars back and he said he did not have access. We asked him to calla Ranger and work this out. He refused..We were leaving and we wanted our money back...He never would give us his name.He had a Colorado tag on his truck and was totally bald with a thick mustache,, We left and are NOT happy campers. Come on New Mexico State Parks you can do better than this.

Spent two weeks at the Devils Inkwell campground. Not once did the staff come up here. Restrooms were never cleaned and the trash was never picked up. I had to take the garbage down to the ranger station. Once again, no one around. Men's restroom and showers at the main campground were very unclean. I would not stay here again nor recommend it to anyone. So far this is the worst of the New Mexico State Parks in the system.

This is a gem of a place hidden in the middle of nowhere. Always a pleasurable visit, nice and peaceful on weekdays. My family and I have enjoyed this state park for generations!
