Big Bend of the Colorado

4220 South Needles Highway Suite3

Big Bend is one of Nevada’s newest state parks, opening in 1996. Situated on the shores of the Colorado River below Laughlin, Nevada’s southern tip, the park offers dramatic views of the river and surrounding mountains. Popular activities are picnicking, boating, fishing and swimming. The park also offers camping, hiking and group facilities. The town of Laughlin is also relatively new, and it offers many amenities including casinos, golf courses and an outlet mall. The park is within the Laughlin town limits, one mile south of Casino Drive on South Needles Highway.

I've loved coming to Big Bend for over 10 years and I love bringing my kids here even more! It's such a quick drive from Vegas and it's only $10 to get in and park for the day. During them summer months make sure to get here early so you can either get a good spot close to the water or get one of the cabanas here. It's a great place if you just want to float the current or ride your jet skies!!!

Enjoying our time here on memorial day. Not as busy as I'd have expected. Water is cold; river current is fast so watch your little ones! The big bummer - the bugs.

113° F outside. Water in the river is a nice 70° F. Crystal clear water. Clean picnic tables and area. Bathrooms nice and clean. Rangers and staff are all very friendly. Spend the day here then go hit the casinos in Laughlin at night.

My family of five stayed at BIG BEND OF THE COLORADO STATE PARK in Laughlin, Nevada for the days of 19-21 December 2017. This Nevada State Park is one of a few of Nevada’s parks that provides full hookups at each campsite. The park is located on Needles Highway near the casino town of Laughlin, Nevada and just across the Colorado River from Bullhead City, Arizona. The park has easy access from Needles Highway and is paved throughout. The campsites were spacious and well situated to afford distance from other campsites. There was a bathroom with showers available. And, within a short distance from the park there was a boat ramp and picnic tables alongside the Colorado River. Very beautiful! As senior residents of Nevada, we have the Senior Annual Park Pass allowing us discounted campground rates. We paid $10 nightly. We enjoyed our quiet and pleasant stay at BIG BEND OF THE COLORADO STATE PARK, especially since few others were there during our visit. And, we will return!

Very nice little corner away from the city. If you get there early enough you can get a spot with cover, pic nic table and charcoal grill. If they are al taken, you can't bring your own charcoal grill but I think they allow portable gas ones. Water by the beach is clear and cool. Bring bug spray, there are these annoying little flying bugs that don't bite but are annoying. They look like tiny moths or brownish gray butterflies the size of a fly. Otherwise it's a great little spot to relax for a day and have a family picnic. We got there on a Nevada day so it was free but I think a car fee is under ten bucks for the day. On one side you can bring your boat or waverunner and there is a landing for you to get it to the water. Or you can rent one on the AZ side.
