A beautiful, unspoilt place to spend a great day with the family. You can swim, canoe, cook your own food with the provided built in barbecues, or you can eat from the on site, convenient catering hut. A short hour or so journey west of Richmond..l have visited on a "spur of the moment" decision, most times I've been!

We had an excellent stay at Bear Creek this past week in Cabin 1. This was our first time staying at a State Park. We will be back! It was a great stay and it came with some many helpful items. We checked out the High Bridge that is only 26 minutes away on a small river road. We loved shooting arrows, walking the trails, building fires, and not having tv or electronic distractions. The store before entering the park has a lot more than you would think. Ice cream, pizza, drinks, coal, and much more at great prices. I would recommend staying for the price and Cabin 1 has a path to the lake and isn't close to the other cabins which we enjoyed.

The staff is so friendly and helpful. Look forward to our yearly trip there. The only state park that you can launch from your campsite.
