Baker Creek State Park

863 Baker Creek RD

Operated seasonally, Baker Creek caters to those looking for fun on Lake Thurmond, a wild ride on South Carolina mountain bike trails or a quick camping trip. If you’re looking for quality, South Carolina mountain bike trails, the park is home to 10 miles of rolling, loop trails that take bikers through oak and pine woodlands.

Outside the stillness of the woods sits Lake Thurmond, a 71,100-acre lake that offers campers serene, lakeside camping sites, as well as easy lake access for boaters and fishers. A covered, 160-person capacity pavilion overlooks the lake and is perfect for group get-togethers and family reunions.

My husband and I visited the restaurant and really enjoyed it. My husband had the buffet and I had the soup and salad bar and it was delicious! Staff was really friendly. The cashier allowed us to look at the bar before we committed to eating. Great atmosphere!

No one at the office. No maps available. Poorly maintained trails. Good potential, but someone needs to go to work.

Very deceiving photos. Campground isn't kept up. Gravel roads with all kind of tree roots and holes. Tear your truck and camper up driving down there. Boat ramp not kept up at all. Worst campground we have seen for GA State parks.

I like this park. But the weekend and holidays are not peaceful times go. The week days would be better.
