Apple River Canyon State Park is in the hilly northwest corner of Illinois in Jo Daviess County near the Wisconsin border. This place is amazing. Its popularity is growing and you must take advantage of its exclusivity while you can. It's a secrete well kept. Great to visit any time. The river is small and has a low current, but it's nice to get in and fish. Great star gazing spot. A lot of good spots to take sky pics.

Great park with clean and very well maintained campgrounds and facilities. Plenty of hiking and fishing available with a small town nearby if you run out of any essentials. We'll definitely be coming out here again.

Nice Clear Water streams flowing over a rocky bottom streambed, a nice place to go for a walk in the water, hiking the trails or fishing. Rock Bluffs and wooded area all around.
